Itinerary · day by day
1Reykjavík
We set off a little before midday from Athens and, after the connection, arrive in Iceland around 18:00. We head for our hotel in Reykjavík, drop our things, and the city is ours. We have time for a first stroll, a relaxed exploration.
2Golden Circle
Off to the famous Golden Circle! Among other things, today we'll see plenty of waterfalls, visit Thingvellir National Park, the Kerið crater, the Geysir geyser, and the "golden waterfalls" of Gullfoss. We continue with Seljalandsfoss. We're off to get drenched at the hidden waterfall tucked away in the area.
3South Coast
Today the road will lead us to the black beach of Reynisfjara, the glacier lagoon of Sólheimajökull, the Skogafoss waterfall, a one-of-a-kind church, and the Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon. Then on to the picturesque village of Vík. We'll visit the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Our day closes with a sunset at Diamond Beach.
4East Iceland
Our first stop is the Stuðlagil canyon. We continue our journey toward the charming village of Seyðisfjörður. Our next stop is the Hengifoss waterfall, one of the tallest and most impressive in Iceland, with a drop of 128 meters. Our journey ends in the town of Egilsstaðir.
5Dettifoss
Our day begins with a visit to Hverir, a striking geothermal site. Our next stop is Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. We continue with a visit to Lake Mývatn. Next comes the Goðafoss waterfall. Our next stop is the Grjótagjá cave. Our day closes in Akureyri.
6Husavik
We welcome Húsavík, a picturesque fishing village. Húsavík is known for its whale-watching excursions, offering a unique chance to see these magnificent marine mammals in their natural habitat. In the evening we return to Akureyri for a gathering at one of the region's traditional pubs.
7Snæfellsnes Peninsula
The day begins with the discovery of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. First stop, the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall with Kirkjufell mountain. Then we visit the black church of Búðir. The next stop is Ytri Tunga beach, known for its seals. Our day closes with a stay in picturesque turf-roofed wooden cabins, right by the ocean.
8Reykjavik
We begin our journey back to Reykjavík. Arriving at midday, our first stop is Kolaportið, the city's famous flea market. The rest of our day in Reykjavík is devoted to strolling. We visit the popular sights, such as the Harpa Concert Hall and Hallgrímskirkja.
9Blue Lagoon – Volcano
Today begins with a thrilling adventure toward one of Iceland's volcanoes. After that experience, the next stage of our day is pure relaxation at the Blue Lagoon. Our day closes with a team gathering at a local spot, where we'll look back over the journey.
10Return flight
This day finds us on the Reykjanes peninsula, where Iceland looks most like another planet. We explore the sites of recent volcanic eruptions, walk across fresh lava fields, and see wild coastlines and striking beaches. It's our last full day on the island, and we live it the way it deserves.
